The great work of Uncompahgre Medical Center (UMC), one of Colorado’s Community Health Centers (CHCs), situated in Colorado’s San Miguel County, was recently showcased by the Caring for Colorado Foundation.
UMC is honored by the Foundation for providing essential dental and oral health services to people who have – over the years – lacked adequate dental and oral health care services. Since 2008, UMC has improved the rural area’s access to medical, dental, and mental health care in southwest Colorado.
The article quotes Steve Siegel, Executive Director, as saying “We are out in the schools providing basic oral health education, giving kids tooth brushes who don’t have them…We are striving to make a difference in our community each day by providing integrated, quality, cost effective care to those in need.”
Congratulations to Uncompahgre Medical Center for doing amazing work! The full article, can be found here.
