This week Colorado Community Health Centers (CHC) along with Colorado Community Health Network (CCHN) celebrate National Nurses Week, May 6-12. Nurses are an integral part of the CHC structure nationwide. In fact, the Health Resources and Services Administration reports in the May 2013 newsletter eNews that nationally there are “16,600 nurses working at health centers.”
According to CCHN’s 2012 survey data, CHCs in Colorado employ 301 nursing professionals, including:
- 44 Licensed Practical Nurses;
- 19 Nursing Supervisors/Directors;
- 132 Registered Nurses;
- 15 Certified Nurse Mid-Wives; and
- 100 Nurse Practitioners.
These nursing staff members contribute to the health and well-being to 498,331 patients in Colorado. Nurses at Colorado CHCs contribute to patients by providing patient-centered care that includes coordinated comprehensive primary health care, patient involvement, and patient self-management support.
CHCs provide satisfying employment for nurses and all staff. CHCs offer robust benefits packages, high quality health care, greater scope of practice, teamwork with other employees, and a mission driven setting. Learn more about nursing job opportunities with CHCs by clicking on a link below.
